Somehow I missed Elizabeth Taylor's being made a Dame of the Realm last year by the Queen of England. Sweet-natured callers to Larry King Live tonight, all addressing her as "Dame Elizabeth." One asks how she's kept going, through it all. She explains that having been so close to death so many timeshaving actually died on several occasionsshe's able to appreciate the importance of fighting for life; and she relates a treasured Kennedy-era beyond-and-back anecdote about the time when, three years after his death, Mike Todd, her first great love, turned her away from heaven, told her she had too much more to do on earthbut promised he'd be waiting in the end.

Larry King, rotting in a petunia-colored shirt, making a mental note to have that guy with the mustache who talks with the callers' dead back on soon.
