What is the use of incantation when you haven�t got a wish you�d trust not to be a disaster if it came true? Even to turn back the clock, immediately the hazards crowd forward and overwhelm as you realize
it could have been worse.
There is a place for incantation, back around the campfires when everything is still The Future and the inky firmament is calling
Say star bright!
and it all feels very personal. You wish for some prize
wealth, a woman, a force field
to uplift and protect you. But superhuman powers do not descend in times allotted, with the result that it becomes too late to wish. The sun is baking your personal battlefield and the genie has left the lantern; all is Real.
It seems to take ages.
The big guns of the enemy crow from their ridge top. On the other side you�ll pray thanksgiving
or forgiveness.
