The forehead of a founding father and my fingertips upon it
together make a view I�ve longed to see
and whisper to��The forehead of a founding father.�
Within that frame of fragrant bone she slips her choices
together on a string and then another string more gossamer than genes
but they have bound me to this numinous view.
My fingertips upon the noises from her signaling veins
together try to crack the code in which she chooses here to stay
and when to bid adieu�and how: a little crease appears across her founding father�s brow.
America and all the poems ever written about married women,
together at last: this is the sunrise I could watch all day.
