Can anything said be believed? Anything shown? Fights over forts!
Isn�t it all just suggestion, really; and facts, photos�the merest evidentiary traces? We see countless individuals� inexplicable behaviors resulting�somehow. Current events: a trampled crime scene. I want to join the marine corps. I want to be eighteen, buffed (or buff-ish), and bored with junior college. They�re in fights over forts over there! Shedding my innocence like a wilted tux I�d seize at manhood�s proffered handshake—in a flash.
The unknown: an island in the ocean of desire. On one coast fruitless questions pound against great rearing cliffs; on the other, slow tidy little waves lap hesitantly at the sands�all the knowing we�d rather be spared. But here I sit with the over-age women, denied the sight of carnage by the BBC; from the whites of strange eyes staring into blue space, shielded by a veil.
