Not since the George Foreman Smashed Sandwich Fryer have I felt so strong an urge to acquire an object from TV as the one caused in me by commercials for the video release of Cleopatra. (Which I have never seen, so why not buy the video? I never buy videos, but isn�t this a great way to start? And my mind answers, NO NO NO NO NO!) Contentious talk of Shakespearean love poems in the background all day�then tonight Cleopatra, all four or five hours of her, drifts just out of range�anyway, I�ve been inspired to scan the play for my favorite quotations:
